As Samson grew up
He was blessed by the Lord
But was stirred into heavenly works
To begin Israel’s struggle
That they might break free
From the hands of those Philistine jerks
Now Samson went down
Into Timnah and saw
A young Philistine mademoiselle there
And on his return
To the parental home
He said, to their utter despair
There’s a lady for me down in Timnah
A young girl I’ve decide to wed
An attainable Philistine woman
I’ll not have another instead
His father said,
«What will the neighbours all say ?»
His mother proceeded to faint (ahh!)
«There must be another
From Israel,» said they
But Samson replied, «Well there ain’t» (oh!)
But there’s a lady for me down in Timnah
A young girl I’ve decided to wed
An attainable Philistine woman
I’ll not have another instead
So reluctantly both of them
Yielded their ground
Though quite unaware of God’s plan
And they set off all three
Down to Timnah to see
This young Philistine girl and her clan
