Please add this to the ftp archives. Does this mean we’ll finally have a
CheapTrick directory? 🙂

Here is the best I can do for the title track for Cheap Trick’s «Dream Police»
Album. I can’t get the last line of the chorus, so I had to guess, it could be
Wrong. Other points where I may have fucked up:

I have no idea what the chords are behind the verse. I got the damn solo,
Which is over the verse progression, but for the life of me I can’t get the
Chords. I can’t even figure out the bassline.

The «solo» section (which reminds ME a lot of the breakdown in Springsteen’s
«Born to Run») was REALLY hard to get. The orchestra/synthesizer really
Screwed me up, so what I have may be right, but it won’t sound like it unless
You play with the album or transcribe the synth parts. You can do that your
Own damn self. 🙂 Also, the time signature alternates between 4/4 (the
Signature of the rest of the song) and 3/4. I tried to make it clear where
The changes occur.

The part under the line «They’re looking for me» may only be the bass, but I
Put it as a guitar part, because it’s so damn cool.

Other than that, enjoy. I think that this should be played on a Les Paul. My
Strat doesn’t give me nearly enough bottom on this one, supporting my
Conclusion that FOR ME, strats are better lead instruments and Pauls are
Better for rhythm. But to each his or her own.

Backing vox in parentheses.
