Key Francis Scott — Star Spangled Banner

From: [email protected] (James D. Legg)
This is the closest I’ve been able to come to figuring out the Star
Spangled Banner. If you make any corrections, please let me know.
Enjoy!

I have just a couple corrections…

There should be a 4 between 2 and 5 here.^^^
(I assume that «full bend» in the first line means you bend it so that it
sounds two frets higher; if that’s the case, then that’s fine.)
Here’s some chords that I scraped together (in C, not E):
THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER (Francis Scott Key)
———————————————
[I suspect that some of these chords are very subject to improvisation;
in fact, if you wanted to, you could pretty much play a different chord
for each note, by playing C under C, E, or G, F under F, A, or C, and so
on, sort of like I did for the very last line. So I just wrote down my
own little interpretation.]
C G C Am D7 G
Oh say can you see by the dawn’s early light
C G F C G C
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming
G C G C Am D7 G
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
C G F C G C
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming
C G Dm F
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air
C G F C Am D7 G
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there
C F Dm Gsus G
Oh say, does that star-spangled banner yet wa — ave
C G C F C Am G C
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave
