I just took a close look at the version I posted earlier, and found some
errors and ommission. This is closer to the "real" thing. The ninth,
eleventh, thirteenth, and other "masochistic" chords have been simplified
to sevenths.
THE CHRISTMAS SONG Time: 4/4 Tenor: C Bass: C
16 2m7 57 1maj7
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
16 5m7 17 4
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
6m 4m6 1 77
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
3 2m7 7b7 3b
And folks dressed up like Eski - mos
2m7 57 1 2m7 1maj7 2m7 57
Ev'ry- body knows a turkey and some mistletoe
1 2m7 17 4 7b7
Help to make the season bright
6m 4m6 1 77
Tiny tots with their eyes all a-glow
3m7 67 2m7 57 1
Will find it hard to sleep to - night
5m7 17 5m7
They know that San-ta's on his way
17 5m7 17 4maj7
. He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
4m7 7b7 3bmaj7
And ev'ry mother's child is gonna spy
6m7 27 57
To see if reindeer really know how to fly
17 77 7b7 67 57
And so I'm offer-ing this simple phrase
1 5m7 17 4 7b7
To kids from one to ninety-two
6m7 7b7 1maj7 27
Al-though it's been said many times, many ways
3m7 6m7 2m7 57 1maj7
Merry Christ-mas_____ to you
