Hi there! Here’s a tab of Laughter, by Bruce Cockburn (from «Further
Adventures of…» 1978).
Since tabbing this piece i have come to think that it may _possibly_ be in
Open C. However, it works perfectly well in dropped-D, too. The only
Difficulty is in the chorus section: for the first chord shape, you need to
Barre the E,A & D strings at the 2nd fret with your first finger, while
Keeping the G string open AND fretting the B and e strings at 3 and 5
Respectively. If that’s just ridiculous, then ignore the open G string
And play a straight barre chord.
I haven’t included timing marks: I figure you’d have to know the song to
Want to try and play it anyway. Note that Bruce modifies the verse section
A couple of times to get a more arpeggiated, sustained feel (eg the verse
About nuclear good-time boys). For this you can use the same fingerings,
Just change the style.
That reminds me… i have one question about the lyrics of the song that
You may be able to help with:
